Korker Happy

We're at 35 weeks and my pursuit for different kinds of happiness has stepped up since happy vibes are the doctor's order from now until we have our little girl with us. Today's source of happiness comes from something very simple - korker bows. They make babies look like gifts - which they indeed are. =) I googled how to make one but found out that it involves baking the bows, so I just decided to order from the experts. Yay. =) Can't wait to hold our gift with her bow. =)

Those pretty round things

We'll be having guests over in a couple of days and each time there's an upcoming house event, I get new 'what ifs' when it comes to adding some accents for our home. Today's what if is all about those pretty round things - topiaries! Might look for an artificial one this weekend (might not be able to maintain a live one inside the house). Meanwhile, here are some pretty topiaries used as accents for the home. :)

It's almost the weekend! Happy vibes coming my (and your) way!

Sweet & Lovely for our coming sweet pea

It has taken countless trips to the mall, Ace Hardware, Handyman, 15 days of waiting time for custom made furniture, an electrician, a handyman, excited parents-to-be and wonderful grandparents-to-be to complete our sweet pea's nursery. The room is too sweet not to share.

Baby room stuff from Dimensione, Ikea, Papemelroti, Tod's Crafts, SM Dept. Store, Toys 'r Us

Custom made furniture from HomeValue (Crib and Diaper Changer with dresser) and Mandaue Foam (Bench with storage)

Finally, we're ready to welcome our baby girl and gift her with a sweet and lovely start.

34 weeks!

We're getting closer to seeing our baby girl. Can't wait! =)

Who opened my Kinder Bueno!?

It was all me apparently. I'm the culprit (and the sweet baby girl in my tummy perhaps).

Can't get enough of Kinder Bueno!

Have a sweet end of week everyone!

Wall Decal Love

This isn't a remnant of my nesting phase, I've always loved anything about making a house pretty ever since I could remember. I can watch Clean House, Extreme Home Makeover, Carter Can, Dress My Nest, HGTV Showdown, Tacky House and all other home shows in the TV world all day, if time permits. =)

Today's post is dedicated to one little-home-makeover-paraphernalia-that-can -- Wall Decals. I've always been fascinated by these adhesive beauties ever since I saw it for the first time from the pages of Real Living magazine and I've been a fan ever since. The thing is, the particular decal I've been looking for for our home is still out of stock, but I'm waiting on the wings because I've been in contact with a couple of wall decals sellers such as Nu Dekor Wall Stickers, Sticker Avenue and RefreshFashion.

The nice thing about it is it's fuss free, reusable and quite affordable. It can be used in whatever part of the home that needs sprucing up, from the baby's room, master bedroom, hallway to the living room or kitchen.

Isn't it a wonder... wall. =)

Ikea stuff to brighten our baby's nursery

My very good friend brought home lots of Ikea loot for our baby girl. I'm pretty sure all these will brighten our baby girl's room. I'm no expert at designing rooms, but I know pretty stuff when I see them. I hope baby Zia will come to love all her stuff as much as I already do. =) The Vitaminer curtain/divider's colors will surely catch our baby's attention. The Fabler canopy will keep our baby safe from mosquitoes, but aside from its functionality, the design also adds a lot of whimsy too! The Ekkore rocking moose will definitely be a fun addition to our baby's room. We assembled it as soon as we got home. Isn't it just so cute? =)

This star and moon wall lamps will definitely be cute accents for our baby's room. Plus they're gonna be cute night lights too!The Blames high chair is perfect for our home since it comes in the neutral black and white colors and I don't mind having it around our dining area. Not much baby stuff outside the baby nursery please. =p

I haven't been to an Ikea store, not even when we were in Singapore, but our house has lots of Ikea stuff and I love them all to bits. Here's wishing that Ikea would set up a store here in the Philippines.

Thanks wow! =p Will give you the grand tour of our baby nursery once everything's in place. Mwah!

Have a great week ahead everyone!

About a tree

I know it isn't the ber-months yet, but my post is in fact going to be about a tree. Here's the thing, my mom bought us (Rich & I) our first Christmas tree, for our first Christmas as a married couple. It's a beautiful white tree made out of real branches. It was very pretty, especially with all the lights we put up. The tree wasn't the kind that you could disassemble so after the holidays we decided to move it outside. Months passed and the tree has been on a standstill. Anyway, to cut to the chase, just recently, before a get together with friends at our home, I decided to dispose of the tree because the middle part has been rusting badly. It wasn't actually thrown because one of the garbage collectors said he'll use it as their Christmas tree. Apparently, I didn't think of asking my mom first. A bad case of misjudgment on my end. I forgot that it was a gift from my mom. So here I am publicly apologizing to my mom through my post. I just want to say that I'm sorry mom and I've always been grateful for everything you've given me (and Rich). I want you to know that even if the tree you gave us isn't physically present, we're always thankful. Plus, we have photos with our beautiful first Christmas tree and every time we share the photos, we have a story to tell about the tree in the background.

We will say that it was a lovely gift from a very thoughtful mom who made sure that our first Christmas would be as lovely as can be. We will tell Zia when she understands Christmas that for our 1st Christmas we had a different tree, it was very pretty and that it was given by her grandma. I know the apology always comes after the wrong doing, but I hope this somehow shows you that I'm really sorry about my mistake and I appreciate all the sentimental value you put into everything. Sorry mom.

Love,
Lady

Almost there!

At 33 weeks my mind has started to become preoccupied with all the thoughts of giving birth - conjuring mixed emotions too. But I guess, my work has kept me on my toes and my faith has kept me calm. Like in my older posts, I know that with God, everything will turn out fine, even better. For now, here's a prayer for safe delivery - sharing it with you just in case you're a soon-to-be mom too or you know someone who might want to keep this handy.

The elusive rocker

We're nearly 33 weeks and for the past few weeks I have been obsessing with this particular rocker from Fisher Price, which I saw in multiply. Apparently, as in most times, I thought the rocker won't be purchased anytime soon since it's being sold online - I was wrong, a week after, I inquired about it and unfortunately, the last stock (in the Philippines, it seems) has been bought. Bummer. Must buy something immediately if I really like it na. I've tried asking online sellers if I could pre-order from the US through them, to no avail. I say I obsessed about this rocker because I even signed up in this US to Philippines forwarding company because I was so close to purchasing through ebay and paying double to cover the shipping as well, but the fear of not getting the shipment along the way made me think twice. So for now, I'm saying goodbye to the rocker I was so determined to have for our baby and I have decided to entertain the thoughts of picturing my alternatives (available locally) in our baby nursery.

Here are the photos of my alternatives. What do you think? Am I just being very picky or what? Haha. I'm kinda leaning towards just getting any of these pretty alternatives from Bright Starts sans the hassle and the international shipping woes.

I never thought I'd be this particular about choosing the right baby rocker. I guess I am. =p

Take me to 'The Whimsy' @ Cafe 1771

My mind's floating... where? To somewhere whimsical. Well, I saw this quaint and very pretty deli during a recent wedding i attended and I instantly loved it - the place was true to it's name, 'The Whimsy' @ Cafe 1771 (El Pueblo, Ortigas). Must eat there sometime, I'm sure the food will be as lovely as the ambiance. I'm thinking it would be a wonderful venue for our baby girl's christening reception or something. =) Giddy. =)

The fruits of my nesting

So as promised, I'll be posting pictures of the fruits of my nesting. I just have 1 more left in my list, which I'll probably do soon - I haven't put up photos along the stairs because I haven't found the right frames, but I know I will. :) So for now, here's our newly refurbished home, ready to welcome more guests and of course, our newest addition.

Loving our new blue green bench MTO from Mandaue Foam with the Bungalow 300 throws from Dimensione. =)

It wasn't part of my list, but we also put up a new drop 'chandelier' for our living area, courtesy of my father dear. =p

In keeping with our burst of color theme to contrast with our mostly black and silver kitchen, I got these colorful Holly stools from Dimensione for our small breakfast nook.

Don't you just love colors? Now I can teach baby about colors, not only through books, but also through our furniture. =) P.S. I'd like to thank my fairy parents for making my mini home makeover a success. Hearts. <3

Everyday is a Gift

It's true. :)

Every single day is a gift. :) And everyday, I am grateful. :)

This is me and our baby girl in utero @ 32 weeks

Just a tip for a happy and content life: Every morning, when you wake up, think of things that you are thankful for. It's sure to give you a great head start for the day ahead. :)

Have a great weekend, all!

Ice Ice Baby

One of the many perks of having a baby girl (soon).

I'm crossing my fingers that she'll like ice skating as much as I do (without any prodding).

It would be lovely.

Mommy and Daddy would gladly take you to the rink baby girl. =)

Ode to my heels

I'm officially missing my heels.

I've always been a heels girl, but it's been close to 8 months since I've worn them to work to minimize the risk of falling and jeopardizing my infanticipation. But can I just say, I miss being in heels and how they make me feel. But I guess it's just a little sacrifice for a big payoff in the long run. For now, until a few weeks or so, I'll have to keep on resisting the urge to slip them on. But let it be known that as soon as our baby arrives and I go back to work (after my leave), I'll be rocking my heels again.

Cannot wait.

I wonder, why not pink?!

We're almost on our 32nd week and with just 5 to 8 weeks to go, we've started fixing up our baby girl's room. Our first order of business for the nursery was to repaint the walls. I've always been a pink girl, but for some reason I decided not to go with pink for our baby girl's room (to the surprise of many). I didn't even get much pink baby clothes. And now I wonder why... I guess I like pink for myself, but for a baby girl, i think pink has been such a cliche especially now that a whole world of pantones are readily available. So here it is, the debut of our baby's girl's nursery in Aquamarine and Seal Gray. Can't wait to bring in the furniture and decorations. =)
