Back, indefinitely...

This is my first post for 2011 and my first post for the longest time. I don't know what prodded me to write again, but I guess it has a lot to do with the newest phase in my life that I am entering. Anyway, I got married last September 2010 and just over 2 months after we found out we were already expecting. It really is a blessing. And now that I'm over the hassles of the 1st trimester (we're in our 4th month now) I have this new-found energy to do things. Thus my indefinite return to blogging. So what better way to begin than by sharing with you a prayer I found over the Internet for expectant mothers. It's the nicest among the ones I've read so I printed it out and placed it in my purse to read whenever I can. Whether you're an expecting mom yourself or if you have a friend who's expecting, this prayer would surely bring a smile. Here it is.

Lord Jesus, I lovingly pray for this sweet hope
that I keep within my womb.
You have granted me the immense gift
of a tiny little life living in my own life,
and I humbly thank you for choosing me
as an instrument of your love.
In this sweet waiting,
help me to live in a constant attitude
of self-surrender to your will.

Grant me a motherly heart that is pure,
steadfast and generous.
I hand over to you my own concerns;
any anxious fears that may come,
my own wishes for the little person
that I still have no knowledge of.
Grant that it may be born healthy in body,
keep far from it every peril to its soul.

Mary, you have known the
ineffable joy of a holy motherhood;
give me a heart that can transmit an ardent,
living faith.
Sanctify my waiting,
bless this joyful hope that is in me,
grant that the fruit of my womb
may open out in virtue
and in holiness through your working
with that of your divine Son.

Amen.

I love how it refers to the baby as 'this sweet hope'. Because my husband and I fully agree. And we're counting the days until this sweet hope of ours will finally be with us. =)

Be back soon. I'm thinking expecting chic for my next post.
